Our starting point is the customer. We design, develop and execute the most optimum solution
for our customer needs, through innovation, expertise and experience.
Customer Need - With the winding down of coal fired thermal power plants in USA, imports of Fly Ash are necessitated. The customer need was to get a high quality, concrete-grade Fly Ash (dry) with reliable longterm supplies - but a high freight cost could make imports unviable.
Solution - Minimize freight cost by doing a ‘large’ dry bulk shipment of CEMGUARD® Fly Ash to USA. Despite limitations on bulk storage, JAYCEE successfully loaded a 44,000 MT handymax bulk vessel within 15 days. All dry bulk loading equipment (including compressors and 1600+ tools, tackles, mechanical and electrical items) was engineered and fabricated/ procured by JAYCEE, while complete stevedoring operations were managed in-house, with pollution-free loading. This was a historic milestone, being the first large dry bulk Fly Ash shipment from India.
Customer Need - The Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) is Kenya’s most significant and expensive infrastructure project since independence. With concrete batching plants in multiple sections of the project, the customer need was to get large volume, containerized shipments of Fly Ash complying with GB/T 1596 (Chinese) standard. Consistency of Fly Ash and long-term concrete durability was a critical requirement.
Solution - JAYCEE has supplied 250,000+ MT of CEMGUARD® Fly Ash as per GB/T 1596 in containers to the SGR project, with high quality consistency and compliance to stringent concrete durability requirements. At peak, JAYCEE shipped more than 500 containers per month only to the SGR project. This is the single largest project to import Fly Ash from India.
Customer Need - Concrete producers in Europe need Fly Ash for projects which demand better pumpability, sea-water resistance, lower chloride permeability as well as enhanced durability. Since local supply is diminishing with the winding down of coal fired thermal power plants, imports are necessitated. The customer need was to get EN 450-1 standard Fly Ash with CE quality certification and REACH.
Solution - JAYCEE is the first player in India to obtain CE quality certification for CEMGUARD® Plus Fly Ash. The effort entailed robust documentation, process optimization as well as consistency in product performance recorded over a long period of time. JAYCEE also worked closely with the customer to obtain REACH, which is mandatory for imports into Europe. Consequently, regular shipments to Europe commenced.
Customer Need - Australia and New Zealand have some of the most stringent quality and shipping requirements, with little tolerance for lapses. The customer need was to have a reliable supply chain that can consistently meet quality and shipping requirements, with the supplier holding accountability for any issues.
Solution - JAYCEE prepared a special SOP for Australia and New Zealand shipments and implemented various check-points for quality and shipping to comply with customer needs and regulatory requirements. Even then, when things did go wrong on rare occasions, JAYCEE took full accountability and resolved all issues. This has made us the most trusted and preferred supplier of Fly Ash from India to Australia and New Zealand.
Customer Need - Container freight from India to the Middle East is volatile, and high clearing costs severely impact business economics. The customer need was to optimize Fly Ash procurement cost and reduce price volatility.
Solution - Substitute containers with a break bulk shipment. JAYCEE prepared cargo of 5000 MT CEMGUARD® Fly Ash in bulk bags/ FIBCs and executed a break bulk shipment to Qatar, managing the complete operations including chartering of the chartering of vessel and stevedoring, smoothly and successfully.
Customer Need - Bangladesh imports a large volume of Fly Ash, but due to low draft at the ports of discharge, larger vessels cannot sail while containers are expensive. The customer need was to get supplemental supply of quality Fly Ash in dry bulk form, with the draft limitations in perspective.
Solution - JAYCEE worked with the customer to find a barge operator, and successfully loaded CEMGUARD® Fly Ash into a 3,000 MT barge within 24 hours flat, for shipping to Bangladesh. All dry bulk loading equipment (including compressors and tools, tackles, mechanical and electrical items) was engineered and fabricated/ procured by JAYCEE, while complete stevedoring operations were managed in-house, with pollution-free loading.
Customer Need - Small construction projects such as buildings use site mix concrete, which is manually produced on site. The cost of site mix concrete is high owing to high cement content. Also, the quality is variable and the process is manual and non-standardised. The customer need was to reduce cost of site mix concrete, while improving quality and durability.
Solution - JAYCEE helped the customer in developing concrete mix designs with CEMGUARD® Fly Ash, partially replacing cement and saving significant cost, while also benefiting from the technical advantages of Fly Ash. The challenge was making the process easy to reduce dependence on the site mix operator and minimize errors. JAYCEE hence packed Fly Ash in 40 kg small bags and provided a simple mix proportion chart to the operator - example 2 bags of Fly Ash for 8 bags of Cement. This approach has helped builders reduce cost, improve profitability and deliver better quality.
Customer Need - The customer need was to procure GGBFS in small bags for production of value-added products, which would be used in special applications.
Solution - JAYCEE designed special 50 kg laminated paper bags for packing GGBFS, and shipped containers to Israel. The laminated paper bags enabled easy handling of the material in an automated debagging system, and minimized pollution.
